PROCEEDS GO TOWARDS HARBOR BRANCH RESEARCH

FORT PIERCE, FL - Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the HARBOR BRANCH Oceanographic Institution Library when it hosts a Wine Festival on Friday, March 15. The Wine Fest will be held in the new Library Building at 5:30 PM and will include a tasting of more than 25 fine wines, bountiful hors d'oeuvres, and music. Wines will be provided by Keith Andersen of Roy's Liquors in Fort Pierce. Admission is $50 per person when paid in advance; $65 at the door. Proceeds will go towards the purchase of journals and publications that HARBOR BRANCH scientists need for their research.

HARBOR BRANCH's library was started in the mid 70's. It began with the hiring of a professional librarian who started the library in a small room in the Johnson Science Laboratory. Librarian, Kristin Metzger, has watched with pride as the Library has evolved to a 10,000 square foot building that houses more than 22,000 volumes, subscribes to 170 scientific journals and provides electronic access to information needed by the Institution's researchers. The HARBOR BRANCH Library plays an integral part in the scientific research being conducted the Institution.
