The
Division of Marine Operations, under the direction of Tim Askew, schedules, operates and
maintains Harbor Branch's Research Vessels and Research Submersibles, as well as the
PANTHER Rescue ROV.
The division is comprised of specialized ships'crews, a team of highly skilled manned/unmanned
submersible pilots and technicians, marine engineers, winch tech and shore support personnel.
Technician support for installation, operation and maintenance of the state-of-the-art shipboard
instrumentation is provided under a Cooperative Marine Operations Program (CMOP) with the
University of Miami-RSMAS Marine Technical Group.
