Dedra Harmody is a Research Assistant II in the Microbiology Group of the Division of Biomedical Marine Research. She received her B.S. in Biology from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Dee has been with DBMR off and on for 19 years. She is responsible for fermenting microorganisms that have been isolated during collection expeditions, adding them to DBMR's extensive culture collection, and testing these microorganisms (as well as extracts from macroorganisms collected) in antimicrobial and antifungal assays.
