BIVALVE AQUACULTURE

The Aquaculture Division is engaged in research to improve the culture techniques and tools used in bivalve molluscan aquaculture. Research is focused on the culture of hard clam, and American oysters. Projects include genetic manipulation of clams & oysters (triploidy), and disease resistance in oysters.
