3. What is your refund policy?
A non-refundable $25 registration fee is included in the cost for each workshop. Tuition refunds are issued if you cancel ten business days prior to the workshop start date. Otherwise, a credit is issued for any workshop within the calendar year. If Harbor Branch must cancel the workshop, then we will issue a 100% refund.
4. Is housing available on campus? A limited amount of dormitory-style housing is available and is within walking distance to the training center. Please inquire about the availability of housing and costs.
5. Where do students eat meals?
A number of restaurants and shopping are within close driving distance. Harbor Branch's cafeteria is open weekdays for breakfast and lunch. Meals are not included with your tuition.
6. What is the typical class size for your workshops?
A small class size helps bridge the gap to achievement. Our workshops typically range in size from 5 to 15 students. This small size ensures individual attention from each of our instructors.
7. What do I need to bring to class?
While you are provided a notebook with lecture notes, handouts and activities, we recommend that you bring your own pens, pencils and paper for taking notes. Additional items that students often bring include a camera, calculator, tape recorder, and pictures or drawings from their facilities.
8. What is the attire for class?
Students are recommended to wear casual and comfortable clothes to class. During some demonstrations or laboratory activities you will likely get dirty, wet or sweaty. We also recommend that you bring a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent for outdoor activities.
9. Will the instructors and staff help me design, build or start my own operation?
Most students find that our workshops provide ample information for starting a business or upgrading culture technology in an existing operation, however, some students seek additional professional assistance. Our Project Planning Services can help you through the process of writing a business plan, conducting a feasibility study, engineering a facility, and developing best management practices.
